Sutton Architects were instructed by the client to remodel the existing single storey attached outbuildings to form a large kitchen that connected with a walled south west facing garden.
Candle Cottage is a modern oak framed dwelling located on the fringe of the historic village of Ulcombe Kent. The property was built in the late 1990s to replicate a traditional oak framed house, using vernacular materials.

The Court House is a detached 2 storey property that originally had a glazed conservatory of the south facing elevation to the rear. The existing conservatory was uninsulated and subject to extremes of temperature, and was replaced with a contemporary highly insulated structure with opening Bi Fold doors to take in the panoramic views at the rear.
The Client wanted to extend at ground floor to create a larger family room / dining & office and increase the headroom at first floor level to the bedrooms by altering the existing catslide roof into three gables. The increased headroom to the bedrooms also allowed an extra en-suite to the middle bedroom.
Sutton Architects also did the planning and working drawings including building control submission.
