Island Farm is a lovely detached grade 2 listed dwelling dating back to the 15C and is located 2 miles from the village of Biddenden Kent.
Constructed from timber frame with brickwork, vertical tiling and render infill panels, the dwelling retains all the original features with large open fireplaces , oak ceilings and beamed walls, including a fine example of a dragon beam in the dining room.
The property was extended at the rear in 2005 to create a large kitchen area and rear entrance lobby.
Sutton Architects were commissioned to enlarge the existing kitchen area by infilling a small recessed area and adding a small porch, along with relocating the internal staircase, which was not original, to create an open reception area.
The works were granted planning permission and listed building consent in 2021, with the conversion works starting later this year 2022.
